We are excited to share two major milestone updates for the Amber runtime project today: full-site internationalization (i18n) across our entire web surface, and the official release of the Amber 3-Year Technical Roadmap (2026 – 2029).

🌐 Complete Multi-Language (i18n) Experience

The official Amber website (amberjs.com) now provides smooth, natural, and idiomatic translations in both English and Chinese across all pages:

  • Hero & Interactive Sandbox: Real-time localized runtime metrics, code comments, terminal logs, and boot performance indicators.
  • Core Capabilities Grid: Localized deep dives into our V8 JIT core, zero-config TypeScript compilation, fail-closed security sandbox, and WebAssembly Memory interop.
  • Documentation & Release Notes: Universal language switching for technical guides and release notes, including dual-language markdown posts.

🚀 3-Year Technical Vision (2026 – 2029)

Amber is evolving from a lightweight JavaScript/TypeScript runtime into the next-generation sovereign execution engine for AI-Native & Edge workloads.

Year 1 (2026 – 2027): Sub-Millisecond Cold Starts & Native AI

  • Copy-on-Write V8 Snapshots: Reducing cold starts to < 0.5ms and enabling 50,000+ concurrent worker isolates per node.
  • Zero-Copy AI Inference Core: Exposing native Candle, GGML, and TensorRT-LLM bindings directly inside V8 Isolates with zero IPC overhead.

Year 2 (2027 – 2028): Polyglot Interop & Kernel Security Sandbox

  • Rust-Powered Polyglot Bridge: Interacting seamlessly between JS, Python, Go, and Wasm with zero serialization tax.
  • Fail-Closed Security 2.0: Linux Landlock LSM and eBPF network filtering to enforce strict kernel-level sandbox boundaries.

Year 3 (2028 – 2029): Global Isolate Mesh (BeeGrid) & Agent OS

  • Live Isolate Migration: Zero-downtime hot migration of running JS execution state across worldwide edge nodes.
  • Deterministic Agent Replay Engine: Full deterministic I/O recording for debugging complex autonomous AI Agent workflows.
